When I was growing up, my parents had a book charting the development and power of photojournalism. I used to pore over for it for hours at a time. It struck me how a single image can capture, communicate, manipulate and challenge everything from single moment in time to a long and complicated history; an instant to a lifetime; the concrete and certain to the ethereal and uncertain.

Today I make moving images, rather than still ones. However, the power and inspiration of photography is ever-present in my life.

Just as my narrative first love was radio over television, my visual heart lies with an instant being captured in a single frame, rather than twenty five.
